Why choose rigid foam insulation
While all rigid foam insulation provides a high insulating value with little thickness, not all rigid foam performs the same. The experts at A NO Dealers can help you choose the best rigid foam in the areas you need insulation!
- Higher R-value per inch than fiberglass or cellulose
- Can significantly reduce air leaks
- Reduces thermal bridging (heat flow through wall studs)
Types of rigid foam insulation
- Polyisocyanurate
Polyisocyanurate or polyiso has the highest R-value per inch of any rigid foam insulation. Polyiso is a closed-cell rigid insulation that can be used in a variety of applications, including cavity walls, stud walls, masonry walls, and vaulted ceilings.
- Extruded Polystyrene
Extruded polystyrene or XPS is a closed-cell insulation, usually pink or blue in color with a smooth plastic surface. The closed-cell structure of XPS foam board provides a consistent R-value of R-5 per inch, regardless of density.
- Expanded Polystyrene
Expanded polystyrene or EPS is an inexpensive insulation that meets or exceeds all required building and energy codes. EPS is the most versatile of the options and can be used in attics, walls, basements, and crawl spaces.
Our foam board products
A NO Dealers is an exclusive installer of Dr. Energy Saver's innovative rigid foam insulation. Our specialists can explain the benefits of foam board insulation versus other materials and recommend the best solution for your specific needs.
- SilverGlo™
You will notice that our SilverGlo™ foam board insulation panel looks different from other rigid foam products. When SilverGlo™ boards are made, they are infused with graphite powder to improve its insulating value. Each board also has a reflective coating that acts as an effective radiant barrier.
Benefits of SilverGlo™ insulation:
- Boards are 2-in. thick with an insulating value R-9 to R-11
- Thicker boards are available where more R-value is needed
- By taping the seams between boards, we create an effective air barrier
- Perfect for both attics & crawl spaces
- Improves attic storage in our exclusive SuperAttic insulation system
- Foamax®
Foamax® is an advanced polyisocyanurate rigid foam insulation, featuring a white foil finish on the front and foil vapor barrier on the back. When installed on basement walls, Foamax® panels provide a high insulation value and a warmer, brighter basement overall.
If you're looking for a way to make your basement comfortable year round, A NO Dealers offers many solutions for insulating a basement!
